Elderly Care Finder

About

Empathy and Warmth, that's what they need.

Elderly Care Finder helps Indian families and NRIs work out what kind of elderly care their parent actually needs, what it should cost, and how to hire without being taken advantage of.

The problem we are working on

India's older population is growing faster than its formal care system. In most households the search for help begins after a fall or a discharge, at night, with a phone and a list of numbers from neighbours. In that moment families are asked to judge strangers, agree a salary, and decide who is allowed to do what with a parent who may not be able to object.

There is no rate card, no standard contract and no shared vocabulary for the difference between an attendant and a nurse. Two neighbours give figures that differ by 40 per cent and both are honest. That is the gap this site exists to close: a common language for care levels, transparent (clearly marked) price bands, and checklists that make verification possible even when you live in another city or another country.

What we do

Three things, and we do not pretend to do more:

  • A matcher. Six plain-language questions produce a care level, a fair price band for your city, the scope of work the caregiver should and should not perform, and a hiring checklist.
  • Guides. Practical, reviewed articles on hiring, money and daily care — written with reviewer bylines and dates, and corrected in public when we get something wrong.
  • Introductions. When you ask for one, we pass your requirement summary to care agencies we have verified, and they call you. We are not an agency and we do not employ caregivers.

How we make money

We show advertising on informational pages, and we may receive a referral fee when an agency we introduce you to is engaged. Neither affects the matcher's output: the recommendation is computed from your answers and the published bands, not from who pays us. The full explanation is on our editorial policy page.

What we will not do

  • We will not publish medical advice, diagnoses or dosage instructions.
  • We will not invent reviews, ratings, user counts or caregiver profiles.
  • We will not publish price bands and call them quotes — placeholder data stays labelled until it is surveyed.
  • We will not list hospitals or clinics by name.
  • We will not ask for Aadhaar numbers or medical records, ever.

Who writes this

The site is written by an editorial team with input from experienced care professionals, and reviewed against WHO, government and peer-reviewed guidance. Named reviewer credentials are published only when they are real — seethe review process.
